Here comes Spring, and with it the return of the annual purge! We are excited to feature our favorite trash guys, Jayco Disposal, this month. Nick has been instrumental in helping us provide our annual Earth Day community clean up here in South Berwick going on 3 years now. He generously donates his time, vehicles and disposal costs so that we can clean up hundreds of pounds of trash from the roadsides in South Berwick. In 2021 and 2022 we picked up over 700lbs each year with a small but mighty group of volunteers. We’ll be hosting this event again on Apr 22, 2023, so we hope you’ll sign up and join us!
What is your business, and what do you do?
Our company name is Jayco Disposal. We offer residential and commercial solid waste and recycling removal to our local community.
Tell us about the “AHA! Moment!” that led you to start your business.
Jayco has been a small family business for generations. Both my great uncle and dad ran the trash route one day a week for many years. When I was graduating high school, I had decided I was going to give it a shot and see what we could grow it into. I would say I got addicted to growing a business in a competitive industry.
What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job is that we get to grow a business, offering more services and improving efficiency to our customers. All while being able to provide great pay and create more jobs while investing in better and better equipment. This makes waste collection much safer as well as providing a better work environment for all of our employees.
What makes you different from others in your industry?
What makes us different from the industry leaders is that we live and work in the same communities we service. What separates us from the smaller haulers like ourselves is we have full time office employees that answer all the calls and respond to all the emails leaving no customer without an answer. We also make sure we always have back up trucks, equipment and manpower.
