janegee’s one-of-a-kind Nutritional Skincare Studio is home to a full range of skincare and wellness services. Using Jane’s philosophy of Nutritional Skincare and methods such as Nutritional Response Testing (NRT), their therapists are able to treat the skin and body from the inside out.
Tell us about the “AHA! Moment!” that led you to start your business.
Jane’s journey into the world of skincare began in an unexpected way. Originally trained as an installation artist, her passion for skin health was sparked when her younger brother developed a skin condition that conventional treatments couldn’t solve. Determined to help, Jane set out to not only heal his skin but also uncover the root cause of the issue.
During her search for answers, Jane met her mentor, a renowned Hungarian esthetician whose philosophy shaped Jane’s own approach. Her mentor believed in working with the skin in its natural state and understanding how it functions, rather than masking its issues. This idea resonated with Jane, aligning with her belief that “we are what we eat.” In 1981, she coined the term “Nutritional Skincare,” a philosophy that has guided her work ever since.
Seventeen years ago, Jane opened janegee in the US after noticing the rise of invasive treatments being marketed to women. She wanted to offer alternative solutions that addressed both skin and overall health by targeting the root causes of skin concerns, rather than just treating surface symptoms. Through janegee, Jane has built a community where true, lasting skin health is the goal.
What do you love about your job? Jane’s favorite aspect of her work is the ability to make a meaningful impact on women’s lives. She is driven by a passion for empowering women to make informed health choices, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing their transformation. As they improve their well-being, their confidence shines through and is often visible in the sparkle in their eyes. Jane believes that when you feel confident, your entire outlook on life changes.
