What is your business, and what do you do?
I’m Emilie Talpin, a full-time photographer in New Hampshire. I concentrate on wildlife and macro photography, particularly water drop refraction. I also have my YouTube Channel, where I publish instructional videos every Sunday.
Tell us about the “AHA! Moment!” that led you to start your business.
In 2016, I moved to Ossipee, New Hampshire, to a house on a mountaintop surrounded by wildlife. I became fascinated by the buzzing hummingbirds, the voracious bugs in the garden, and the moose lumbering down the driveway. Two years later, I decided to pick up a camera and spend more time outdoors documenting my furry friends. After that, things moved very quickly for me, and I became an Olympus pro team photographer and was invited to represent OM SYSTEM as one of their Ambassadors in 2021. I now partner with several stores and brands and am a full-time photographer.
What do you love about your job? 
As a professional photographer, one of my greatest passions is macro photography. I am captivated by the beauty that lies beneath our feet and is often overlooked as we focus on the grandeur of the world around us. Macro photography provides a new exotic world waiting to be discovered if only we slow down and look closer. It is an art that is accessible to all. As a photographer, I want to encourage people to learn about the natural world around us and to protect it. I love to travel and meet people at my job, but I also adore my adoptive state of New Hampshire because it encompasses everything in a small state: mountains, lakes, and the ocean. Everything is accessible in a short drive, and the wildlife rarely disappoints.
What is your Service Area?
I live here in Lincoln, New Hampshire, but as a photographer, I go where my subjects are and where a project takes me. I work with clients all across the country and all over the world.
