Curb Appeal Seals the Deal
Driving around a new neighborhood, curb appeal is the first thing you notice about someone’s home. The inside could have gorgeous Victorian era details and hardwood floors, but if the outside looks like it hasn’t been maintained, buyer’s are far less likely to take the next step and schedule a showing. Curb appeal is one of the most impactful means of increasing your home value. Make your neighbors jealous and feel proud with just a few tricks!
Keep it trim! – Maintain your lawn and your outdoor landscaping. Overgrown shrubs blocking windows, haggard trees, or sad garden beds detract. A quick prune and some fresh mulch goes a long way (but stick to black and brown mulch!)
Mail’s here! – Give your mailbox a makeover! Refresh the damaged box, give it a fresh coat of paint, or even add some flowers! Ensure your house number is clearly visible for house-hunters.
Make it pop! – Make your front door pop with a bright color or nice hardware. While you’re at it, oil any sticky locks
Go Green! – Add window boxes, showy annuals, or a new tree to make your lawn pop with color.
Wash it down! – Give your home a wash to make it sparkle. Power-washing is an inexpensive yet impactful way to polish your exterior. Don’t forget to touch up any peeling paint!
Declutter – Clean your front lawn and entry from clutter and keep it sleek. Your butterfly windmills are super cute, but they’re going to the next house, so pack ‘em up! Make sure the front porch is bright and welcoming.
