This month we are proud to feature another local business, who just so happens to be someone we’ve personally used! Take a moment to read about Hosanna Heat pumps, and at the end, we’ll share our personal experience with them!
What is your business, and what do you do?
I own a company called Hosanna Heat Pumps. I install and clean heat pump/ductless mini split systems for heating and air conditioning.
Tell us about the “AHA! Moment!” that led you to start your business:
I have worked in the HVAC industry for over 6 years and found a genuine interest in installing heat pumps with my old employer. Out of all the subgenres of HVAC I found that I liked working with refrigerants much more than oil and gas, especially because of how efficient heat pumps are in comparison to fossil fuel run systems. So here I am now!
What do you love about your job?
I love making my customers happy! I try to do everything in my power to be pleasant, provide clean and efficient work, make the customer feel comfortable, and ensure all of their needs will be met. That is what I love!
What makes you different from others in your industry?
I believe my flexibility and ease of communication with others makes me stand out from others in the industry. That being said, I don’t mean that to demean any other business, and I don’t like talking too highly of myself because everyone has their own perspective on things. But I’d like to say I’m a pretty good guy!
(*We can attest to Luke’s humble personality! He should be proud of his business, because he does a great job!*)
What’s your Service Area?
My service area is as far north as Arundel, and as far south as Seabrook. That being said, I am flexible within reason to venture further away if the project demands it.
Where can customers learn more about your business?
Customers can learn more on my Facebook Page: Hosanna Heat Pumps, and my website.
What’s the best way to contact you for more information?
The best way to contact me is via email, text, or phone call.
You can reach me via email, or by phone at 603.953.4105.
All of this info is also available on my website & Facebook page.
A Personal Review
When Caleb and Catherine moved to South Berwick, their home had the same heating system from the early 80’s. They soon learned this oil-burning forced hot water system was going to be replaced, and spent the next 8 years limping it along. It was evident in 2021 that this would be the last winter, so they began their research into heat systems and local companies. They interviewed 6 companies, got acquainted with the type of heat systems available, and ultimately settled on a heat pump option that would provide air conditioning as well as heat.
They chose to work with Lucas for a number of reasons. With estimates ranging from $15-35,000 they wanted to ensure they were getting the best value, but also an appropriate system for their house. The system has to work with future plans to eventually update and expand their home, so the Allen’s wanted to make sure there was room to add onto the system down the road. They also wanted to ensure that future improvements to the house wouldn’t impact the system – ie power heads having to be relocated or how contractors would work around the units when it came time to replace siding. Lucas took the time to go over all their questions and explain how the system would be installed, his recommendations on placement, and logistics for running the duct lines that would be most aesthetically pleasing. He checked in several times to make sure the Allen’s liked where the condensers and power heads were located throughout the property – are they high enough, do you like this positioning for air flow, etc.?
They also liked how Lucas communicated. He never rushed them through appointments, was friendly and approachable, and he kept them in the loop regarding timeline and install. In fact, he was the only company they interviewed that was able to get his supplies in, and the install complete, within a couple weeks. He installed their system in July, while most competitors were booked out to October. As a bonus, they got to enjoy Air Conditioning for the first time this summer!
Another thing they liked about working with Lucas was his work ethic. He kept an extremely clean job site, took care when working over lovingly-planted gardens (happy to report, no casualties!), and was done in 2 days! He installed 2 condensers and 4 power heads in only 2 days, solo! The installation required partnership with an electrician, which Lucas orchestrated, too. He made this process extremely easy. Lastly, Lucas is approved with Efficiency Maine, so homeowners can get rebates for installing qualified energy-efficient appliances. What a great perk!
It was a pleasure working with him, and if you ever ask Catherine for a Heat Pump recommendation, she will always recommend Luke!
