When thinking of high tea, do you normally think of North Berwick, ME? You should! The Lady Mary Inn at Hurd Manor is putting on tea parties throughout the year and we decided to attend one. Would we recommend it? YES! This was a scrumptious and delicious day to share with one another. We not only got to drink yummy teas and eat absolutely delicious treats but the company made it even better. We invited past clients, lending partners and friends to enjoy the day.
We started the day off with some tea. There were several options and the table chose different teas that suited our pallets. But the best part of having a nice sized group was taste testing each other’s choices. I couldn’t find any tea that I didn’t like on the table. It ranged from green teas to white teas with many options in between.
After the tea was set out for us, the courses of treats followed. There were finger sandwiches, deviled eggs, pastries, cupcakes and other treats for all to try. With one of each laid out for all of us, this was a filling meal. You wouldn’t think finger sandwiches could fill you up but they certainly did!
The manor itself has such a rich history that the owners were eager to share with us. They did a great job of answering our questions and telling us all about the history of the manor, the inn and the surrounding area. There were several rooms that were used for the guests. We were fortunate to sit in the dining room area which had beautiful accents. The owners have done an amazing job of preserving the old feel while keeping it up to date and not feeling too tired.
At the end of the day, there aren’t enough great things to say about the tea party that we had. It was a great time to catch up with friends, old and new. Check out their calendar of events today to sign up for tea or any of their other experiences: https://www.theladymaryinn.com/calendar
